There are many different varieties of fig trees available for planting, but all have the same basic characteristics. They require full sun, good drainage, good air circulation, and lots of water. The majority of fig trees will be grown from seed, although in some cases this is not possible.
Cuttings taken from a mature tree will generally produce a more vigorous plant that is more likely to survive than cuttings taken from a young or dormant tree.
