As your plant graduates into different stages of your plant’s life cycles such as the seedlings phase, vegetative phase, flowering phase, and fruiting phase: there will be a need for light color switching to suit each of these plant stages.

It’s no news that light is important for the growth of plants and you need to be aware of the accurate Kelvin for each of the plant stages. The light (be it sunlight or other types of light) is used for photosynthesis activities. For hydroponic gardening, this light needs to be recreated like the light produced from the sun.

All the sources of light appearance are supplied by a light bulb and they are known as color temperature. Now, Kelvin comes from the measurement of these light colors because the light is measured in degrees Kelvin (K). The Kelvin (K) has a scale of 1,000 to 10,000. So, as your plant is reaching its flowering phase, you may need to change or switch to high-pressure sodium bulbs for a higher red light spectrum.
